At A1 Project Management, we take pride in being a versatile and responsive team, ready to mobilize and deliver in any situation across Australia. Our team is not only equipped with the skills and expertise necessary for complex projects, but also dedicated to working with cultural respect and professionalism in every community we serve.
One of our current projects is for the Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council, where we have been engaged to manage the civil works for the subdivision of council land into 24 lots designated for Indigenous housing. The project scope includes essential infrastructure work such as roads, stormwater systems, electrical networks, and more.
The project is divided into three stages:
Stage 1A commenced last year but faced an unexpected halt in December due to the impact of Cyclone Jasper. The severe weather rendered the community inaccessible by road throughout the wet season, delaying progress. Thankfully, the roads reopened just last month, allowing us to return to Kowanyama and restart work with renewed focus and determination.
We are excited to announce that works have recommenced this week. Our contractor is already on-site, clearing debris left in the cyclone’s wake. Moving forward, our team will operate on a structured 3-weeks-on, 1-week-off roster, ensuring consistent progress while respecting the needs of the community and our team members.
Our approach to project management in Kowanyama is characterized by our commitment to flexibility and adaptability. The ability to quickly mobilize and reactivate our work is essential in this remote community, where weather and other environmental factors can significantly impact timelines. By working closely with the Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council, we aim to complete Stages 1A and 1B efficiently, providing vital infrastructure to support Indigenous housing and community growth.
The completion of this project is more than just meeting a contractual obligation—it is about contributing to the development and well-being of the Kowanyama community. We are committed to ensuring that the new subdivision is a source of pride for the residents, providing much-needed housing and supporting the Council’s broader vision for sustainable development.
At A1 Project Management, we remain dedicated to delivering quality outcomes through culturally respectful practices and professional service. As we continue to navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by this project, we will work closely with the Kowanyama community and all stakeholders to achieve a successful and meaningful outcome.
Stay tuned for further updates as we progress through the project stages, and thank you to the Kowanyama Aboriginal Shire Council for entrusting us with this important work.
